About the Artist
AT’HOMMA is the art studio of Tina Benavente (Koasati/Chamoru), an Indigenous textile artist and fashion designer based in Louisiana. Through AT’HOMMA, Tina creates art that embodies her cultural identity, ancestral knowledge, and deep reverence for land and memory.
Tina holds a BA in Fashion Textiles from the University of the Arts London, London College of Fashion, where she developed a multidisciplinary approach to fashion design grounded in both contemporary practice and traditional textile techniques. Her work bridges generations and geographies, drawing inspiration from her upbringing on the lands of her Koasati ancestors in the Southeastern United States and the Island of Guam, homeland of her CHamoru heritage.
Her textiles are often hand-dyed, handwoven, or naturally printed, incorporating Indigenous knowledge systems and eco-conscious processes. Through intricate detailing and a commitment to slow fashion, Tina’s designs challenge colonial frameworks of fashion and instead emphasize sovereignty, sustainability, and storytelling.
